Re: Scaredy Pit and Dog Parks
This information isn’t pitbull or bully breed specific. This is true of all dogs:
If your dog isn’t properly socialized or is dog aggressive, this problem shouldn’t be fixed by throwing a muzzle on and then using unsuspecting strangers’ dogs as tools for your training purposes. This is dangerous to your dog, you, other dogs, and their owners. Further, in terms of your...
janczewska asked: socialization: READ EVERYTHING BY CESAR MILLAN. If she hates big dogs, start first with a whole bunch of little dogs and keep slowly working your way up in size. Find a nice park and call out to dog owners and ask them if you can introduce her, then walk her over to say hi, then reward her. Do this for a few months until you've reached dogs larger than her. Also, if you think the situation...
sluttytwinkies asked: Hey I'm wondering if anyone on here could lend me some advice about socializing my pit. I got her from the pound at a late age (7mnths old) with no history other than she was pregnant. We introduced to her to my teacup poodle and they are now bffs. The problem is she hates big dogs, so I'm wanting to take her to a dog park with a muzzle so she can be socialized. I'm just afraid if...
thespazzmonkey asked: I live very close to Shorty's Rescue and pass by it almost every day. Whenever I do, I stare at the building, hoping something would happen or I would get a peek of someone. Usually it looks like no one's there, but one night the lights inside were on, & more recently, the door was open (the inside not the screen). I was so happy that the door was open, my brother (who was driving at...
xxunriot asked: I don't understand why the hell CB doesn't open his own freaking rescue and fund others! It's not like he'd ever have to ask for donates or struggle to raise money to help the dogs under his care. But nope, instead he wants to ADD to the over population of animals and promote pits as a "status symbol" that's exactly how they end up in the hands of idiots who want...

I go to my local dog park all the time and there are TONS of pits that are perfectly well behaved. Most of them are very sweet and very obedient.
codependentbrothers asked: I bring my girl to off-leash dog parks all the time and she loves them! She is very friendly with both people and others dogs and we have never had a problem. If anything it provides an outlet for pent up energy and an opportunity to socialize your dog and let other people see how amazing this breed really is. Yes to dog parks, for sure!
solongtodevotion asked: Hey! On the subject of dog parks; I volunteer at a smaller dog rescue and we currently have 3 pits who, along with our other rescue dogs, love the dog park. The only time we`ve ever had trouble was when someone brought an unaltered male lab in who tried to pick fights with all of our dogs. But for the most part everyone plays really well, and it`s a fantastic way to let them run off some of their...
mariillustriousmakinami asked: Concerning bully types at dog parks: as long as you're willing to take on the risk of idiot owners bringing their aggressive/dog-selective dogs, there is no reason a pit bull shouldn't go to a dog park. I work with pits every day and own one-there are many dog friendly (hell, I've worked with pits who practically depend on other dog interaction) bullies. They're not inherently...
hamsterbooty asked: Hey guys I go on a pit bull forum and a lot of them don't agree with dog parks. So I was wondering does anyone actually have their pits play in dog parks? I think it would be great for non-aggressive pits for an energy outlet, so any experiences or advice would be great.
kittunzmittunz asked: That is murder. That dog was taken out into the woods and murdered. Call the police immediately. Let them get the bullet and match it up with this asshole's gun. That is animal cruelty at its worst. This monster should go to jail. What a terrible human being.
kittunzmittunz asked: If you don't mind, could you pass along my name to Monkey Boy's owner or let me know their name? I'm curious to know what state they live in so I can look at specific animal cruelty laws, but I'm pretty sure that murder is first degree animal cruelty in any state. This is just really pissing me off that somebody could do that to a nine month old puppy and I really feel so sorry...

Monkey Boy
this is my handsome baby. 9 months old and passed away on Thursday. :( brought into the woods and shot by someone who was supposed to be my friend, because he bit someone’s hand. didn’t tell me, or even call the police, he just brought him in the woods and then left the body there. he wasn’t an aggressive dog, he was the sweetest ever. the guy who he bit was teasing him and he...
